WHAT IS PEPA?
The Pacific Egg and Poultry Association is a regional nonprofit agricultural trade association which has served the egg and poultry industry for over 70 years.
MISSION STATEMENT
Through a united voice and cooperative actions, enhance the viability of the poultry and egg industries in the eleven Western States and Canada, and its ability to produce and market the highest quality food products to the consumer in a competitive manner.
STRENGTH THROUGH UNITY
Those in the industry have many common interests and goals, making close communication within the industry increasingly more vital. PEPA brings all segments of the egg and poultry industry together as a strong, united voice.
INFORMATION
Disseminates up-to-date information on all activities relating to the poultry and egg industry via PEPA Newsletter, "Just Hatched" a Fax Newsletter, special mailings and more. PEPA also publishes a complete listing of those firms involved in the poultry and egg industries in the 11 western states and British Columbia. PEPA publishes manuals on egg quality assurance programs, SB 198 Injury and Illness Prevention & more. PEPA staff assists members daily on industry related matters. The association is a valuable information resource.
SCHOLARSHIP & RESEARCH
PEPA is the umbrella organization which ensures that the PEPA Scholarship and Research Foundation continues to function and provide funding for the educatin of those interested in careers in the poultry and egg industries; and for important research projects benefiting both the egg and poultry industries.
GOVERNMENTAL RELATIONS
PEPA represents the poultry and egg industry in governmental relations. PEPA is involved in many issues including: agricultural marketing, transportation/trucking, air pollution laws and other environmental regulations, farm animal welfare, food safety, egg inspection, taxes, and more.
MEETINGS AND EDUCATIONAL CONFERENCES
Provides opportunities for industry representatives to meet for social, business and educational purposes including the PEPA Annual Convention, and various other Association sponsored functions and seminars.
ECONOMIC SERVICES
PEPA offers members money saving insurance programs including: Worker's Compensation, Health and Major Medical, Dental, Disability and Accidental Life Insurance and Property and Casualty including product and general liability.
ENVIRONMENTAL & SAFETY CONSULTATION
All members have telephone access to PEPA's Environmental & Safety consulting staff. PEPA staff have the technical expertise to answer most routine questions about compliance with environmental & safety laws pertinent to the egg and poultry industry. Valuable information is just a phone call away.
For an additional subscription fee you can also participate in PEPA's Environmental & Safety Service Program. This entitles you to in-depth, on-site analysis, inspection and service. PEPA's environmental staff has experience in underground tank registration and removal, Storm Water Run-Off Regulation & Compliance, Conducting Phase I & II Environmental Audits, SB 198 Injury & Illness Prevention Planning, Hazardous Materials Storage & Handling worker safety, and waste water discharge management.

FOOD SAFETY/QUALITY ASSURANCE
California's Egg Quality Assurance Plan has served as the model for the nationwide program. PEPA served as the lead organization in establishing an Egg Quality Assurance Plan. The program reduces the risks of foodborne illnesses.
